There are 3 types of Bonds:
- Cash Bonds
- Property Bonds
- Secure Bonds- By bondsman or surety company
- To pay a cash bond, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, you must pay the cash payment at the district clerks office on the first floor of the Morgan County Courthouse. The district clerk will give release to the control room of the jail. This money is returned to you if you come to court.
- Property bonds: When posting a property bond the accessed value must be equal or more than the bond for the person you are bonding from jail. All owners must be present to sign a bond and must have a valid picture ID.
Property bonds: OUT OF COUNTY BONDS, you must come to Morgan County Jail and have the bond filled out. Take the bond to the county where the property is located. Have that county put property address and value on the bond and owner signs the bond. Have the county you are in stamp the back of all copies of the bond. There should be 3 stamps per bond, with the Sheriff's stamp and the person stamping the bonds signature.
3. Bondsperson or Surety Company: For a fee a bondsperson or surety will sign a bond for you. You will be released on the bondsperson or Surety Company's terms.
