Second in command at the Morgan County Sheriff's Office is Chief Deputy Mike Corley. He was drafted in the Army and served as a medic for two years. Chief Corley attended the Northeast Alabama Police Academy #2 class at Jacksonville State. He started his law enforcement career at Cullman County in 1972 as a patrol deputy. He has worked at Morgan County Sheriff's Office since 1979. Chief Corley over the last 28 years has been promoted through the ranks of Sergeant 1982, Lieutenant in 1983, Captain in 1997, and Major in 2002. He was appointed as Chief Deputy in 2003 when Sheriff Greg Bartlett came into office. Chief Corley supervises the over all operation of the Sheriff's Office of Morgan County.
